Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of How’s the Stack? (the “Service”), including howsthestack.com and related Workers deployments.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

How’s the Stack? is a command center that helps you view health, usage, and attention signals from product infrastructure you connect. Current integrations include:

• GitHub
• Cloudflare
• Supabase
• Stripe

Features, dashboards, and integrations may change as we ship updates. We may add, modify, or remove functionality. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.

3. Accounts

You access the Service by signing in with Google through Supabase Auth. We do not provide password-based accounts in the product. How we access, use, store, and share Google user data is described in the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining control of the Google account you use to sign in
• Activity that occurs under your How’s the Stack? session
• Ensuring you have authority to connect any third-party accounts or API keys you link

You may sign out at any time. To delete your account, follow the account deletion instructions in the Privacy Policy (email howsthestack.support@gmail.com after disconnecting integrations). We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these Terms are violated or if continued use would harm the Service or others.

4. Integrations and credentials

Connecting an integration is optional and under your control. When you connect a provider:

• You authorize the Service to access that provider using the OAuth grant or API key you supply, within the scopes or permissions of that connection
• You represent that you are allowed to grant that access (for example, for orgs, accounts, or Stripe keys you control)
• You can disconnect integrations from the product; disconnecting removes our stored connection or credential for that provider as described in the Privacy Policy

The Service is designed for monitoring-style use. In particular, the GitHub and Cloudflare clients used by the product are oriented to reading data rather than deploying, editing, or deleting resources on those providers. You remain responsible for how you configure provider permissions (including Stripe key restrictions).

Third-party services remain subject to their own terms. Outages, rate limits, or policy changes at Google, Supabase, GitHub, Cloudflare, or Stripe may affect what you see in How’s the Stack?.

5. Your content and feature requests

If you submit feature requests or related notes, or vote on requests, that content may be visible to other signed-in users. You retain ownership of your submissions, and you grant us a license to host, display, and operate the Service using that content.

Do not submit unlawful, harmful, or confidential information you are not allowed to share.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Misuse the Service or attempt to disrupt its infrastructure
• Probe, scrape, or overload the Service or connected providers beyond normal product use
• Attempt to access another user’s account, credentials, or encrypted secrets
• Use the Service in violation of applicable law or third-party terms for connected providers
• Reverse engineer the Service except where such restriction is prohibited by law

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its branding, interface, and software, is owned by the operators of How’s the Stack? or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of that intellectual property to you.

“How’s the Stack?” and related marks are used to identify the Service. You may not use them in a way that suggests endorsement without permission.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Dashboards may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate relative to the underlying providers. Do not treat the Service as the sole source of truth for production incidents, billing, security, or compliance decisions.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, How’s the Stack? and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service or connected third-party providers.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the three months before the claim, or (b) zero if the Service is provided without charge.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, the limits apply to the maximum extent allowed.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operators of How’s the Stack? from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your connection of accounts or API keys you are not authorized to use.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We will change the “Last updated” date when we do. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

We may modify or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) with or without notice, subject to applicable law.

12. General

These Terms are the agreement between you and the operators of How’s the Stack? regarding the Service. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization or transfer of the Service.
